Level-Up Workshops : NES-Inspired Frame [Focus Group]

FOCUS GROUP SESSION: During this special workshop, we will run through the normal itinerary, however at the end, we will have a short Q&A/Feedback session. The expected runtime of the session is 2hrs, but we've added some buffer time for this reason.

By participating in this focus group, you agree to allow photo and video to be taken during the session, which may be used for Retro Remix marketing and promotional purposes for future Level-Up Workshops.

Summary:

Level 1 : NES - Step into the Retro Remix Studio and turn a piece of gaming history into your own remix!  In this guided, hands-on session, you’ll carefully take apart an original Nintendo (NES) controller and transform its iconic buttons and components into a framed art piece; your very own Remix. Along the way you’ll learn a bit about the hardware that powered a generation of gaming, learn about the tools used in the process, and assemble a finished piece that’s uniquely yours. No experience required—just bring your nostalgia and curiosity! A few days later, you’ll pick up your completed, framed a one-of-a-kind creation built from the controller you remixed yourself. 

Age/Skills:

Ages 14 and up. While no specific skills are required, steady hands and good dexterity are important to have. All required tools and PPE are supplied.

Cost:

Retro Remix Studio is located in the Gaslight Studios (in the Gaslight District) at 64 Grand Ave. S. There is ample parking available across several lots (all free), please see the following link for parking locations...the easiest is the indoor Lot 1, located immediately North of the main district square. Once parked, you'll enter the Gaslight Studios through the staircase on the North side of the Foundry Tavern building (photo below). Go up the stairs and find Retro Remix #204.
