Atari Paddle (Breakout)
It's September, 1977. Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" was on the radio, Star Wars Ep. 4 was taking the world by storm in theatres, and you were at home with your brand new Atari Video Computer System (a.k.a. Atari VCS or Atari 2600). Perhaps you'd emptied your pockets playing Atari's great arcade games, but now, you could bring the experience into your living room.
The predecessor to Arkanoid, Breakout (released in 1978) was the perfect follow-up to Pong (found only in arcades at the time), and it was a perfect fit for the Atari Paddle Controller. The smooth left/right spin of the wheel allowed you to become the master of block-breaking.
Our Atari Paddle Controller remix reveals the inner components in a deep frame that is the perfect size to stand on your desk, or hang on your wall (both options are built-in).
Frame size (approximate): 10.5 x 10.5 x 2.2"
